This winter Anouk will join the cast of ‘The Great Andrew Lloyd Webber Gala’, a tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber. A show conceived to honour one of the greatest musical composers of our time with excerpts from his masterpieces such as
The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express, Aspects of Love, Love Never Dies, Song and Dance, Requiem…
The extraordinary voices of 4 internationally acclaimed soloists and a singing and dancing ensemble of 8 performers take the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride:
Love, seduction, romance, humour, anger, greed, courage, hope and inspiration…Webber’s work is filled with a vast array of human emotions, his music touches the hearts of audiences from around the world. The Andrew Lloyd Webber Gala reunites these emotions in one show, and makes them to its Leitmotiv.
Webber’s brilliant music is interpreted by a live orchestra of 14 musicians, who are on stage behind the performers. A narrator is leading through the evening accompanying the audience on their musical journey and linking the different elements of the show.
Sometimes the musicians disappear behind transparent curtains so as to leave the stage completely to the performers and to create a more intimate atmosphere.
Colourful costumes, multimedia projections and video mapping combined with state of the art lighting effects make this show as pleasant to the eyes as it is to the ears.
The big hits from The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express, Aspects of Love, Love Never Dies, Song and Dance and Requiem come together in this sensational production. 2 hours of pure musical and visual pleasure.
The Andrew Lloyd Webber Gala is an exciting show both for the fans of Webber’s music and for audiences less familiar with the great master’s work.
The show is choreographed and co-directed by Jeanette Damant, an Australian choreographer, who has worked all over the world e.g. the Moulin Rouge and the Lido in Paris, the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, and Jochen Sautter, a Paris based writer, director and choreographer, who has successfully collaborated with Mrs Damant on many occasions. The orchestrations are by Matthias Suschke. He orchestrates and arranges music for film and stage e.g. the famous Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin. The state of the art lighting design and the video mapping was created by Daniel Stryjecki, a young creative multimedia artist, who has designed lights and video mapping for corporate events of Coca Cola, Merck, Siemens, Orange, LOT-Polish Airlines, Abu Dhabi Ports amongst others. The costumes have been designed and built in Paris by Rick Dijkman, costume designer for Disneyland Paris. Jochen Sautter and Deborah Sasson, a team who has written and brought to the stage several musical shows e.g. the 100th anniversary production ofThe Phantom of the Opera and the critically acclaimed new show The Little Prince-The Musical have the artistic supervision of this production. All the performers have been cast from the London West End. The international orchestra has been put together especially for this production in order to serve Mr Suschke’s musical and artistic requirements.
